I Saw An Eagle Today

Went for my, now usual, around the block 4 mile run. About 1/2 way around I saw an eagle take off. I was going north on N Ayr Rd and over to my left I saw this big bird lifting off. She was maybe 150 yards off the road so I don't think I startled her, unless my puffing and panting did. I watched her fly to the north til she disappeared. Couldn't see what she was eating, too much snow on the ground. I've lived in this area for 17 years and this is the closet, to my house, that I've seen an eagle. As the crow flies, as they say, it is maybe a mile to my house. As soon as I saw that white head and tailfeathers and that awesome wingspan I knew what I was looking at. I have seen eagles on Pickerel Lake, when we were out for a boatride, which is about 3 miles south of me. And up in the upper peninsula when we were coming back from the Soo. I wish I had the camera or maybe my kids, they would have gotten a big thrill from seeing that eagle.
OK then back to my run. 47 minutes today. Sunny and 38 no wind. Got pretty warm running. Took my hat and gloves off and still was really warm. Will try to get out tomorrow and Tuesday because later this week the weatherman says the rain is coming. Looking like spring is trying to arrive. Still have 2 feet of snow on the ground in my yard. I should try to get the garage roof cleaned off before it rains otherwise I'll have a small lake in the garage.
Also if anyone reads this I have 50 G-mail invites to give away. I have my own Gmail account and I like it. No spam and pretty simple to use. Send me an email at northconwayindian@gmail.com and I'll send you an invite. Man, an eagle, I'm still in awe.
That's it for now. Will run for beer.
