A Lovely Day for A Run
Today was a b-e-a-utiful day for a run. Went around the block in 47 minutes which was better than Mondays' 50 minutes. Monday was 18 degrees and the wind was blowing 15-20mph; today sunny 28 and no breeze. Monday it took me 15 minutes for the first mile. I shoulda went home but went the 4 miles in spite of the fact my legs felt dead. No life no spring just wooden stumps. I think I could have walked it faster. Maybe I should not have went 4 days without running. Because today, though not a lot faster, I certainly felt better. My legs felt like they had a little life in 'em.
So I need to work out how I'm going to get my runs in pretty soon. The day shift is looking like a go and I'd be working 8 to 4:30 M-F. My wife and I will have to get our schedules co-ordinated somehow. She goes to work at 5:30 am and works til 2ish. and the kids still go to school. We take them in everyday and pick 'em up. I believe Grandma will be involved as the bus goes by her place, I don't know what time, and I can drop the kids off on my way to work. My wife would then pick them up after school. Need to decide if I'll be an early morning ot late afternoon runner. Be playing that by ear for now.
Haven't had a chance to check out new shoes yet. I studied Runners World and Running Times shoe issues. I'd like to look at Brooks Radius 6 and Mizuno Wave Creation and a couple others if I can find 'em. Not going to Traverse City but maybe Gaylord.
OK the snow in my yard is hip deep and the bay has frozen over and I'm ready for spring. I split a cord and 1/2 of firewood because we're getting low in the basement. So winter can leave now.
That is all. Will run for beer.
