Daddy Has Got New Shoes
OK then. Last Sunday went for a 2 1/4 mile run/walk. Little more running than walking. Went down the snowmobile trail the opposite direction I ran last time. Not quite as steep hills. Hot and humid. Stretched and rolled. No pain to speak of in the ol' leg.
Tuesday went for another 2 mile run/walk down the big hill. Ran most of the way to the bottom of the hill which is a mile. Took 12 minutes of which I walked 2 minutes. Took me 20 minutes to get home. Can't run up that hill worth a damn. One of these days I'll sit down and try to figure out the hillgrade. Just for curiosity sake.
Wednesday went shopping with my wife in Gaylord. She didn't want to go to TC. Bought a pair of shoes at Kohl's. Nike Attempt II. Probably a discontinued model. Medium stability and control. On sale cheap only 39.95. I'll walk in them a bit to sort of break'em in. One of these days I wil get to TC to check a store called 'Running Fit'. There are 5 of 'em with 2 in TC.
Thursday went for a 2 mile run/walk. Wore the new shoes. Hot and humid again. Hopefully this is the last heat wave of 2005. Set records temps throughout northern lower Michigan with low to middle 80's. New shoes worked fine today. A little tight in the toe area but no problems. Took a fairly flat route today. 1/2 mile to top of big hill then back a couple times. It is the only "level" stretch of road where I live. No problem with the left leg either. I think between the stretches, the foam roller and switching back and forth across road have helped solve the ITB problem. I hope.
This my weekend to work so no running til Monday. See ya. Will run for beer.
