Monday Moanin'
Ran/walked what I call the state park route. Start behind Glen's north grocery in P town. Follow bike path 1/4 mile then zip down a dirt trail into Petoskey state park. Through the park, where there are a few diehard campers yet, out the main entrance, follow M 119 to bike path and back to start. About mile 1 my shins started moaning especially the right leg. I think it is because of the new shoes. I didn't notice it last week but the heel is about a 1/2 inch taller than the old shoes. Probably because all I saw was shiny new shoes. When the shins became noticable I think my stride changed and made for a mediocre run. Took 45 minutes to do 3.25 miles with more walking than I planned. I stopped to try and stretch out a bit but it didn't help for long. The route is fairly flat only 1 long gradual slope and that is where I really felt it. So I'll try again Tuesday wearing the old shoes and see how it goes. Maybe I'm one of those souls who is not meant to run in the morning. I don't have that answer yet. The temp was a nice cool 36 degrees and light fog almost perfect running weather. By the time I got home the sun was out and warming up. The trees are turning color with maybe 30% color. Fall is definetly in the air and I love it.
That is all. Will run for beer.
