Wimp Wednesday

Ran/walked a little better than 2 miles today. Kind of a gray day like it wants to rain but just can't seem to. High 50's and a decent day for outdoor exercise. The leaves on the trees haven't changed much yet and with no sun everything looks a little blah.
Wore the old shoes but didn't get the chance to run where I ran on Monday. Pressed for time today. No problems with the legs. No extra discomfort and no whiny shins. Still not able to run a whole mile nonstop yet. Try on Friday at the state park. I'll wear the old shoes and see if the new shoes were the problem. I think they are because are because they a 'd' width and I should of got 'e' or 'ee'. Oh well. I'll wear them around the house or mowing the lawn.
Monday or Tuesday next week I'm going to TC and Running Fit to check them out. My wife will be out of town and the kids in school and my firewood is mostly finished. I plan on purchasing a really decent pair of shoes with some, hopefully helpful, advice from people who are runners. At least that's what the web site leads me to believe.
Been doing the stretches and they have helped I think. Not sure about the leg exercises though. I can't tell a difference. The foam roller was a good investment, use everyday and boy it really helps loosen the tight muscles. I'm pleasantly suprised. I was sort of skeptical when I bought it and just goes to show one never knows what'll work until one tries.
OK then will run for beer.
