Almost Too Busy to Run

Wow! It's October already. What happened to September. I think I missed it.
OK where was I? Worked last weekend and Sunday was a long day. Bad weather keeps us hopping at work.
Monday went my 2 mile run/walk. 60 and breezy. Good running weather. Had to wear a long sleeve shirt. My left leg felt pretty tight. I stretch out before and after and do an extra set on the left side. Maybe it is too much.
Tuesday a rest day and a good thing too. Because Wednesday I did a little different route. Went on a snowmobile trail just down the road. I'm not sure how far I went, maybe 2 1/2 miles, but loose sand going uphill was difficult. Walked a brisk pace uphill though. Felt the burn baby! At the finish my legs felt fine. At work that night we got real busy with wind and lightning, worked til 5am. Then stayed up to get kids to school and went to bed for 5 hours. Up at 2pm to get kids and ready for work. Long day. I'm getting too old for those kind of hours. 20 years too old.
Thursday was a rest day for me. Well I cleaned up around the house a bit. Sometimes I think we are raising piglets. Having 3 dogs and 2 cats don't help the situation much either.
Friday went for 2 mile run/walk with a bit more running. I think I'll get back on my original plan I started this whole thing with. If I can find it amongst all the paper on my desk. Purchased a 6" X 12" foam roller. Came in the mail today. Use it as a poor man's massage. One of the sites I looked at when this ITB thing came along recommended this to deep massage the big leg muscles. I tried for a bit before I went out today and could feel a knot in my left leg about 6" above the knee 1/2 way between the side and back of my leg. It'll take some doing to get that loose. One time just showed me where it is.
Haven't bought new shoes yet. Slightly overwhelmed by the variety of shoes. Maybe I can get to Traverse City to shop , the name of the store escapes me now, but I know where it is. I believe they cater to runners and would like a runners perspective when I purchase my next pair. Someone to guide to the right shoe for my running style or lack of.
Well that'll do 'er for now. Will run for beer.
