Daddy's Got New Shoes II

Made it to Running Fit store yesterday. Bought a pair of Saucony Trigon 3 Rides. Tried on, I don't know, many styles and brands. I got a little confused before I decided which pair to get. I think I made a good choice. The salesman told me the old Riddell's I was running in are a knockoff of the Mizuno line, which I almost bought. I had it down to 3 shoes before I did the eeny, meeny, miney moe thing. The New Balance 859 was a nice fit also. They don't have a treadmill to check your stride on but you could put a pair on and run in the parking lot. It helps if you can get a feel for a shoe by running in it. Most shoe stores won't let you do that because they're afraid the next person won't buy a pair if it looks run in. I also bought a wicking shirt and a pair of Mizuno running pants for this coming winter. I'm all set now.
I did the state park run one more time today. Ran in the new shoes with no problems. A nice comfortable ride. Did the run in 42 minutes just like last time out. Also wore the new pants which were very comfortable with no tight spots or chafing areas. The weather was a lovely 58 degrees, breezy and sunny. Good day for a run. No leg problems either.
I was talking with the saleman, his name is Ben, and he said he had the ITB problem for 5 years. Cripes I sure hope I don't have it that long. The good thing, if there is any good to it, is that its not a damaging injury just painful. Nothing is torn or requires surgery you just have to stretch and exercise your way through it.
All in all my shopping experience was a good one. It helps to go someplace where the people are knowledgeable about the products they sell and can help make an informed decision.
After my run today I cut firewood for a couple hours. My legs didn't bother me after my run but they sure did after cutting wood. I ran the saw for 2 hours and picked up 1 pickup load and I was done for the day. That's too much like work for me. Tomorow I'll go golfing with my friend Jon, going to Gaylord I think. Just have to be back in time to pick up the girls after school. And Thursday my wife will be back and life will get back to normal.
That's all now. Will run for beer.
