Six Mile Sunday
Went for a run today. Decided to try the six mile loop I've been thnking about. The wind is blowing pretty good again today, 15-20 mph with gusts to 35.Otherwise a sunny and 35 degree day. The first 2 miles were into the wind. Then 3 miles with the wind, sort of, with me. The last mile the wind was almost a non factor thanks to the trees. Did it in 1:13. I allowed myself 1:20 so I felt I did OK. A little over a 12 minute pace per mile. If the wind ever quits blowing like 90 I'm sure I can do better. I don't run so good into the wind and not at all uphill into it. Unfortunately the area I live has hills no matter which direction I go. I've pondered driving elsewhere for a flatter more level route but don't want to spend the extra 20 minutes or so getting there and home. At the end I felt good. No unusual pains or stiffness. Soaked in a cool tub of water for 10 minutes which probably helped. Did the usual stretching and all is well. Will try again later this week. Monday will go around the block and Tuesday spend the day with my wife. Our one child free, for the most part, day together for the next 2 weeks.
Tomorrow is the first day o' spring. Already! Woo hoo! I am ready for it.
Later. Will run for beer.
