Finally Friday

Ran/walked a little different route today. I call it Justameretrail 'cause the last road I pass before turning around to head back is called Just-A-Mere Trail. I think it is 3.6 miles by Gmap Pedometer. I thought I saved the route but must not have as I can't find the file now. Anyhoo, I did that in 47 minutes. Not a great time I know but I'll get faster one of these days. It was a beautiful day 40 degrees, sunny and a light breeze. Wore a hat and gloves which I removed after 3/4 of a mile; left 'em on a rock to pick up on the way back. No leg problems which is the first time in awhile. Had a minor pain in the arch of my right foot but that disappeared when I finished. Did stretches before and after. Also used the foam roller before and after. That roller has been the best running equipment investment I've made besides the shoes. I read an article about a fellow who took a piece of rope and tied 3 or 4 knots about 6 inches apart at both ends and uses it for stretching the legs and arms. It looks like a good idea. Cheap and useful.
I'm also thinking about a heart rate monitor. Nothing fancy just your basic monitor like a Polar FS-1. Walmart has one for 48.44. I've watched on E-bay for one but haven't bid and won one at a price I'm willing to pay. I've tried taking my pulse and doing the math but am too lazy. Always seem to lose count and am not sure exactly when I should take it. Besides I'm a modern guy; if a machine can do it for me, why should I?
Tomorrow I plan on cutting firewood. I have the next 5 days off; Sunday and the next couple days are supposed to be rainy so I'll play those days by ear. I'll run in the rain but won't run the chainsaw if it rains. Oh, and I get to go trick or treating with my kids Halloween. First time in 5 years and I'm looking forward to it.
That is all. Will run for beer.
